Naked man arrested, says he may have been drugged

FAIRBANKS - A Fairbanks man arrested after allegedly walking around the Denali area naked and threatening a man with two fire extinguishers told Alaska State Troopers he might have been drugged.

The Daily News-Miner of Fairbanks reports that 24-year-old Brian Steinhoefel told troopers his behavior was "freaky," and that he believed he was slipped a drug while drinking alcohol in Fairbanks. Troopers also located a gray Subaru at 252.5 Mile Parks Highway that Steinhoefel allegedly stole from a College Road home and drove until he ran out of gas.

He's been charged with the felony of first-degree vehicle theft and the misdemeanor of fourth-degree assault following Wednesday night's episode.

Steinhoefel has no prior criminal history in Alaska. He had not posted $3,000 bail as of Friday.
