Moderate earthquake hits in southern Alaska

ANCHORAGE - A moderate earthquake has hit in southern Alaska, but there were no reports of injury or damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 3.0 temblor struck at 4:26 a.m. Saturday local time. It was centered 38 miles east of Port Alsworth, and about 138 miles southwest of Anchorage.
