Carmina Burana rehearsals begin
The Juneau Lyric Opera's Mid-Summer Workshop kicked off on July 9 at the Juneau-Douglas High School Auditorium. Singers and musicians will perform Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" on July 21 at JDHS, with rehearsals continuing until July 20.
Byron McGilvray will conduct, with Sue Kazama and Doug Smith accompanying on the grand piano. A percussion ensemble prepared by Lee Hacker also will play a large role in the performance.
