The Master Gardeners are sponsoring garden tours on Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21, at more than a dozen locations around Juneau. Tours will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. each day. Gardeners will be available at each location to talk with those on the tour. Tickets for the tour will cost $10.
The money raised from the tours will be used to sponsor an annual scholarship given to one or more graduating seniors from Southeast Alaska who are interested in studies in horticulture, botany or related fields. This year Crystal Aldrighette of Juneau and Tanner Smith of Wrangell were awarded scholarships.
Tickets to attend the tour may be purchased at Hearthside Books or the Cooperative Extension Office, 3032 Vintage Blvd., Suite 104.
The tours are self guided and those attending the tours are asked to car pool if possible to keep down the number of cars at each location. Take your purchased ticket between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to either the Bill Ray Center or the Extension Office in Vintage Park to pick up garden tour maps. Tickets can also be purchased there.
