Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Theft:

• A mountain bike was reported stolen at 7:59 p.m. Monday at Aurora Harbor.

Vehicle accidents:

• A 2004 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 43-year-old woman, reportedly struck a garbage container at 5:38 p.m. Monday on outbound Egan Drive in the Sunny Point area, damaging the bumper and hood.

• A 52-year-old woman bicyclist was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital to be treated for injuries after a 1994 Oldsmobile, driven by a 53-year-old woman, pulled in front of her on Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area. Police cited the car's driver on charges of failing to yield on a left turn and not carrying proof of insurance.

• An accident involving a 1990 Ford Mustang and a bus at 9:49 a.m. Tuesday on outbound Egan Drive at Mendenhall Loop Road left an estimated $500 in damage to each vehicle. The Mustang was driven by an 18-year-old woman. The bus was driven by a 25-year-old man.

Hit and run:

• At 3:45 p.m. Monday, a 2006 Toyota Tundra was reported struck by an unknown vehicle in the 700 block of West Ninth Street downtown.

• At 8:10 p.m. Monday, a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am was reported struck by an unknown vehicle in the 100 block of Second Street downtown.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported at 12:04 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Franklin Street downtown.

• Police received a report of a bear at 12:43 p.m. Monday near Distin Avenue downtown. The caller was referred to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

• A caller reported a bear at 2:12 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of South Franklin Street.

• Police were informed a bear was seen at 8:43 p.m. Monday in the 4300 block of Glacier Highway in the Twin Lakes area.

• A bear was reported at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday in the 2800 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.

• Someone reported a bear at 8:02 a.m. Tuesday near Rheinhardt Street downtown.

• Police received a report of a bear at 8:34 a.m. Tuesday near 12th Street downtown.

• A bear was reported at 10:14 a.m. Tuesday near Silver Street in the Mendenhall Valley.
