Smith, Butler wed

Amber Adrianna Johanna Theresa Smith and David Allen Butler were married May 2, 2009, in Leavenworth, Wash., with a reception following on July 2 at Centennial Hall in Juneau. The ceremony was officiated by the bride's third-grade Harborview Elementary School teacher, the Rev. Donna Jones.

The bride is the daughter of Roy and Johanna Smith, of Juneau. She is a video producer, editor and director in Seattle, Wash.

The groom is the son of Joy Butler, of Anchorage, and the late James Butler, of Sitka. He has been with the Alaska Marine Highway for nearly 14 years and lives in Ketchikan.

The bride and groom graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1987 and were reunited at the wedding of fellow graduates Julie Gasparek and Daryl Hedges in 2005.

The flower girls were Sarah Salas, Skye Hart, Kamper Hart, Anna Kahklen, Clare Boily, Zoe Voss and Daley Potter. The ring bearer was Dane Potter.

The couple honeymooned in Campbell River, British Columbia, and plan to eventually make their home Juneau.
