New diner features retro vibe

FAIRBANKS - Tony Miller has fond memories about the drive-in diners of his youth.

So he's happy to share the experience through his new '50s-style drive-in diner near Fox.

The Boomers Tri-Five Drive-In is covered with vintage advertisements, old photos of pinup girls and tributes to World War II heroes.

The menu includes root floats, cheeseburgers and fish baskets, among other items - all delivered by carhop girls.

The Tri-Five in the name refers to the distinctive cars made from the mid 1950s.
