ANCHORAGE - Lt. Gov. Craig Campbell is calling on Alaskans to register to vote by the July 25 deadline to update existing voter registration for the Aug. 24 primary election.
"The right to vote in open and free elections is a foundation of our democracy," he said. "I encourage all Alaskans to check that their voter registration information is up to date and to actively participate in our 2010 elections."
Residents can check the status of their voter registration online at you are not sure if you are registered or if your registration record is current, you can check the status of your voter registration online at www.elections.alaska.gov. From the home page, select the link for online tools and then select the link for voter registration status.
Alaskans who need to register or update their voter registration can obtain a registration application at any Division of Elections regional office, at their local municipal clerk's office, at the Division of Motor Vehicles and at many of the libraries. Registration applications are also available at the Division's website at www.elections.alaska.gov.
