Parks and Recreation Saturday Hike,8 a.m., Heintzleman Ridge Trailhead. Very difficult five-mile hike with an elevation gain of 2800 feet. Experienced hikers only. For a faster pace hike, meet at 9 a.m.. Both groups will meet at the peak for lunch. Wear warm clothes, waterproof hiking or rubber boots and bring food and water. No dogs or firearms.

Mendenhall Watershed Partnership Hike, 9 a.m., Mendenhall River greenbelt trail parking lot. Hike to city-owned land between Auke Lake, Montana Creek and Mendenhall River to view are of potential land disposal for residential development. 586-3141.

Friends of Recycling Glass Crushing, 9-11 a.m., DOT lot at 7 mile of Glacier Highway.
