Women have options, if they have info

Letter to the editor

Given the current political encroachments on women's reproductive rights, it is important for all women to have access to options beyond government control. The Internet is a useful tool. Google "emergency contraception" for lots of good information. Almost any birth control pill can be taken as emergency contraception within three days of unprotected intercourse to prevent a pregnancy. You will need to take between two and five of the regular "pills" to achieve this goal. Nobody wants to abort a potential life; that's not the issue. The issue is freedom of choice. An unwanted child is a burden on society, on the mother and especially awful for the child.
