Strong wind knocks out power in Nenana

FAIRBANKS - High winds toppled trees across the central Interior and knocked out power in the city of Nenana.

The Golden Valley Electric Association could not say precisely how many homes lost electricity Sunday evening, but expected power to be restored sometime Monday.

The National Weather Service office in Fairbanks has issued a wind advisory. It reported gusts of up to 30 mph on Sunday.

In the Fortymile country near the Canadian border, the rain from thunderstorms was heavy enough to warrant a flood advisory.
