Due to conflicting information given to the Empire, grants used for HIV/AIDS clients were misrepresented in a Wednesday article. To clarify the roles of Shanti and Four A's in the recent transition, Shanti lost the HOPWA grant in December 1999 and was re-awarded the grant in January 2000 -- when the group turned it down. Four A's then picked it up in February. The Ryan White CARE grant was picked up by Four A's July 1.

Due to a production error, lines were misplaced in the Empire Preview article, Native professionals reflect on effects of ANCSA. After stating that Jaeleen Kookesh Araujo, a woman born in Juneau and raised in Angoon, is currently employed in Washington, D.C, the article should have read ``Although she loves her work in the nation's capital, Araujo is homesick and hopes to return to Alaska in the near future. Riccardo Worl, a Tlingit and a member of the Thunderbird Shungookeidee Clan, was also featured in ``Growing up Native in Alaska.''
