The Juneau Soccer League's Under-13 boys team, the Jambaars, wrapped up the 2005 Diadora Cup in Redmond, Wash., over the weekend with a 2-1-1 record.

The Jambaars opened play on Saturday and suffered their first loss of the tournament. Juneau lost 2-0 to the Emerald City M92 Green Team.

Following a scoreless first half, the Jambaars started to test Emerald City's defense.

The Jambaars' Cole Carnahan, Max Smith and Rhett Bennett each took shots but could not beat the goalkeeper.

Goalie Taylor Lehnhart made four saves in the defeat.

Peter Jorgensen and Zander Hoke had shots on goal in the second half but Emerald City scored twice to win the game.

On Sunday, the Jambaars finished the tournament on a high note with a 2-0 win over the Emerald City M92 White Team.

Hoke put the Jambaars ahead in the 24th minute and Andy Lawson added the insurance goal at 52 minutes.

Carnahan, Colin Gozelski, Nathan Fosket, Jorgensen, Hoke and Lawson all had shots in the win.

Lehnhart made five saves in goal to preserve the shutout.

The Jambaars travel to Fairbanks in August to play in the Alaska State Soccer Tournament
