No need to change party affiliation

Letter to the editor

With respect to Arthur Almon's letter on July 5 ("Voicing disgust at the ballot box"), I would like to clarify the requirements for voting a closed party ballot for the primary election on Aug. 22.

Sound off on the important issues at

All voters registered either Republican, nonpartisan or undeclared may vote in the upcoming Republican primary ballot. All registered voters, including Republicans, may vote on the combined-party ballot, which includes every party with exception of the Republican Party. So, for all voters registered as nonpartisan or undeclared, there is no requirement for you to change your affiliation to vote either party ballot.
