Patricia Berg passed away July 8, 2010. She was 90.
Patricia was born Aug. 27, 1919 to Irma Hannah Fillmore Hussey and Patrick James Hussey in Vancouver, B.C.. After Pat was born, her parents returned to Kodiak where her brother and sister were born. Pat lived in Kodiak, Cordova, Seward, Kennicott and Anchorage before moving to Juneau in the seventh grade.
She graduated from high school in Juneau in 1938. Pat worked as an executive secretary and then kept the books for Berg Construction Company. For 17 years they lived in various Southeast Alaska locales. During that time, Pat was the bull cook for 30 employees, while her husband, Cliff, worked building logging roads.
Pat loved animals and shared this joy with her friends at the Juneau Pioneer's Home by introducing Lulu and George, among other loved creatures.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband in 2005, and by her parents and brother.
Pat is survived by her son, Jan and his wife, Mary, of Glendale, Ariz. She is also survived by her sister, Mariana Major of Washington, and her sister-in-law, Grace Schaible of Fairbanks. Pat also leaves her grandchildren, Dustin Berg and Christopher Berg, and seven great-grandchildren.
There will be no services, as Pat wished. Her remains will be spread at Circle Bay where her dear husband's ashes were scattered.
