Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts:

A 49-year-old woman was arrested for theft at Big Kmart at 2 p.m. Friday. She was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

A 23-year-old man was arrested for vehicle theft on Postal Way at 4 p.m. Friday. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle sometime before 6 a.m. Saturday on Trout Street.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

A mailbox on Glacierwood Drive was vandalized sometime before 7:30 a.m. Friday.

A mailbox on Fritz Cove Road was knocked off its post and a custom sign was stolen sometime before 8:30 a.m. Friday.

A mailbox was vandalized on Meander Way sometime before 4 p.m. Friday.

A mailbox was destroyed around 1 a.m. Saturday on North Douglas Highway.

Vehicle accidents:

A car hit the guard rail on Glacier Highway near Mendenhall Loop Drive at 3 p.m. Friday, causing $2,000 damage. The 18-year-old woman driver was cited for going too fast for the conditions.

Animal encounters:

A bear was getting into the garbage on Gail Avenue at 9 p.m. Friday.

A bear was reported on Nancy Street at 10:30 p.m. Friday.

A bear was reported on Birch Lane at 11 p.m. Friday.

A bear was reported on Nancy Street at 11:30 p.m. Friday.

* A bear was reported near Mendenhall Loop Road and Kodzoff at 11:45 p.m. Friday.

A bear was reported on Aspen Avenue at midnight Friday.

A bear was reported at 11 Mile on Glacier Highway at 2 a.m. Saturday.

Other:

A 35-year-old man was cited for driving while his license was suspended at midnight Friday on Front Street.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for unlawful use of a driver's license and underage drinking. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

A 61-year-old man was arrested for misconduct with a weapon at 3:45 a.m. Saturday after aiming his 12 gauge shotgun at a 42-year-old man who refused to leave his home near Auke Bay. The older man appeared to have been drinking. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center and the police are continuing to investigate.
