Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

• John Roa Sr., 41, was arrested at 10:59 p.m. Sunday near Ferry Way on charges of drunken driving and driving with a revoked license. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.


• At 6:21 a.m. Monday, a red Dodge van was reported stolen during the night near Gee Street.

• At 8:10 a.m. Monday, an olive green bicycle was reported stolen sometime Sunday afternoon. The bike was valued at $600.

• At 10:59 a.m. Monday, a sound system was reported stolen from a vehicle on Sunday night.

• At 11:32 a.m. Monday, personal checks were reported stolen from outside a residence and forged in 2001.

Motor vehicle accidents:

• At 3:04 p.m. Sunday, a 1999 Ford Ranger driven by a man, 33, was struck by a 1991 Dodge on North Douglas Highway. The Ranger sustained $1,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.

• At 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a 1997 Ford pickup driven by a man, 49, was struck by a 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by a man, 76, near Front Street. The driver of the pickup was issued a citation for failure to yield.

Animal sightings:

• Bears were reported Sunday at 2:40 p.m. near River Road, 3:28 p.m. near Evergreen Avenue, 7:23 p.m. near Marion Drive, 8:58 p.m. near Glacier Highway, and 10:02 p.m. near the Mendenhall Campground.

Minor consuming:

• At 3:37 a.m. Monday, a man, 19, was cited for minor consuming near Northwood Drive.


• At 5:40 p.m. Sunday, a man, 43, was arrested near Nowell Avenue on charges of failure to attend a court hearing and failure to comply with condition of parole. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• At 7:05 p.m. Sunday, two men, ages 47 and 57, were arrested for criminal trespass near Decker Way.

• At 11:25 p.m. Sunday, a man, 57, was cited and released for disorderly conduct near Ferry Way.

• At 4:16 a.m. Monday, a woman, 41, was cited for disturbing the peace near South Franklin Street.


• Capital City Fire and Rescue reported six EMS calls on Monday and one false alarm.
