Territorial Sportsmen announces scholarships
The winners of the Territorial Sportsmen Scholarship Foundation's 2005 graduating senior scholarships were Tabitha Williams, Carl Lundquist, Carly Garrison and Aaron Bruce.
Each student will receive $10,000 while studying in a four-year baccalaureate program of their choice. All recipients have demonstrated a strong interest in the wise use of natural resources.
The scholarships are funded through the sale of fish submitted to the Territorial Sportsmen during the annual Golden North Salmon Derby and through investment earnings.
Since the program's inception in 1953, 227 students have been awarded $1,208,600 in scholarships.
Juneau students make Oregon State honor roll
Three Juneau residents made the scholastic honor roll for the spring term at Oregon State University.
The students were Robert Ryne B. Cuanzon, Margaret K. Gemmell and Jason G. Lunasin.To make the honor roll, students must carry a 3.5 grade-point average and at least 12 graded hours of course work.
Powers named to dean's list at Clark University
Juneau resident Kerriann Powers has been named to second honors on the Clark University dean's list for the spring 2005 semester. To be eligible for second honors, students must have an average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.3 scale.
