FAIRBANKS - Fairbanks police say a shirtless man chased a 14-year-old girl in an attempted kidnapping while the teen was jogging on Saturday.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported 23-year-old David Allen Thalacker has been charged with one count of attempted kidnapping.

Police say the girl rode her bike to Creamer's Field and began jogging on the trails when she saw a shirtless man staring at her and placing his hands down his pants. The man then began to chase her. The man caught up to the girl and briefly grabbed her, but she managed to get away and outrun him.

According to court documents, Thalacker appeared intoxicated when police found him only wearing his boxer shorts.
