THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Chamber open at Jordan Creek: The Juneau Chamber of Commerce set up shop at the Jordan Creek Center near the airport early this month, leaving quarters it had occupied for nearly a decade on West Fifth Street.
The chamber's new address is 8800 Glacier Hwy., Suite 112?. It's new phone number is 790-4601 and its new fax number is 790-4602.
Music store coming to mall: Music in the Mix, a music store specializing in contemporary musical equipment, is due to open at the Mendenhall Mall on Aug. 1. Chris Jensen, his brother Scott and their father, Ray, are partners in the store, which will be a department of Jensen's Home Furnishings.
Music in the Mix will carry acoustic, electric and bass guitars, keyboards, music software and other equipment, according to Chris Jensen.
Four graduate from touring school: Kara Altman, Bridgette Easaw, Barbara Lindh and Norma Strickland, employees of Southeast ExecuTravel Plus, have graduated from the University of Touring as Globus & Cosmos World Wide Touring specialists. Graduation ceremonies are July 31 in Dever, Col.
Alaska Federal hires Wonser: Alaska Federal Savings Bank has hired Patrick Wonser to fill the position of vice president and office manager at its downtown Juneau branch. Wonser has 30 years of banking experience, the last 14 in Juneau.
He is married to Kim Wonser, owner of Kim's Kloset. They have three children.
Sitka picks economic development director: Todd Saunders has been hired as the first director of the Sitka Economic Development Association. SEDA is a non-profit organization formed last year by the Greater Sitka Chamber of Commerce and funded with federal funds provided to the city to help compensate for the decline in Southeast's timber industry.
Saunders, 35, worked for two years at Sitka Tribal Enterprises. He has an MBA from Golden Gate University and a bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University. He starts work at SEDA on Aug. 1.
