Juneau residents Jim and Natalie (Rucker) Cummins will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on July 26 at the Church of the Nazarene, 3220 Mendenhall Loop Road. Following a reception from 1-3 p.m., there will be inspirational singing and reflection of their life together from 3-5 p.m.
Jim and Natalie met in Tacoma, Wash. They were married on April 23, 1953 and three days later, Jim reported to Mullan, Idaho, to begin a 30-year career with the Civil Aeronautics Administration, which later became the Federal Aviation Administration. The job took them to seven different states.
In 1954, Natalie began her career as a mother. Their children were born in four different states, including Alaska. The family first came to Alaska in 1956, left in 1967, then came back in 1976. They have resided in Juneau ever since. Jim and Natalie's seven children and 21 grandchildren now reside in the two largest states, Alaska and Texas.
