Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Drunken driving:

• Police arrested 19-year-old Dwight Vuille on a charge of drunken driving at 6:54 a.m. Satruday at Birch Lane and Columbia Boulevard in the Mendenhall Valley. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle he was driving. Police also charged him with criminal mischief and underage drinking.

Domestic violence:

• Police arrested a 43-year-old man at 3:06 p.m. Thursday on a charge of violating a court order related to domestic violence in the valley. They lodged him at the state prison.

• Police arrested a 41-year-old woman on a charge of domestic-violence assault at 12:01 a.m. Friday in the valley. They lodged her at the state prison.

• Police arrested a 27-year-old woman on a charge of domestic-violence assault at 12:22 a.m. Friday in the valley. They lodged her at the state prison.

Disorderly conduct:

• Police arrested a 47-year-old man on a charge of disorderly conduct at 1:52 p.m. Friday in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive. They lodged him at the state prison.

• Police arrested a 39-year-old man on a charge of disorderly conduct at 12:52 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North Franklin Street downtown. They lodged him at the state prison.

Other:

• Police arrested a 31-year-old man on a charge of harassment at 3:07 a.m. Saturday near Front and Seward Streets downtown. They lodged him at the state prison.

Theft:

• A mountain bike was reported stolen at 1:41 p.m. Thursday in the 4400 block of Julep Street in the valley.

• A case holding 14 compact discs was reported stolen at 4:01 p.m. Thursday from a vehicle in the 4400 block of Julep Street.

• A mountain bike was reported stolen at 1:43 p.m. Friday from a boat shed in the 16900 block of Point Lena Loop Road.

• Police arrested a 48-year-old woman on a charge of second-degree theft at 8:39 p.m. Friday near Marine Way downtown. They lodged her at the state prison.

Vehicle accidents:

• In an incident reported at 12:11 p.m. Thursday, A 1996 Dodge reportedly struck a 1990 Jeep, driven by a 59-year-old woman, on West 10th Street in Juneau. No information was available concerning the driver of Dodge or damage to the vehicles.

• A 1994 Subaru was totaled in an accident at 4:18 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Drive and Rivercourt Way in the valley. Police cited the driver, an 18-year-old woman, on a charge of careless driving. A 1994 Isuzu, driven by a 38-year-old woman, sustained an estimated $3,500 in damage.

• Police cited a 41-year-old man on a charges of driving on the wrong side of the road and carrying no proof of insurance after an accident at 10:51 a.m. Saturday at Long Run and McGinnis drives in the valley. He was driving a 1992 Toyota pickup. The other vehicle was a 2000 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 41-year-old man. No damage estimates were available.

Traffic stop:

• Police impounded a vehicle at 7:30 a.m. Friday in the 3300 block of Nowell Avenue on a charge of driving without a license and proof of insurance. They lodged the driver at the state prison when it turned out he had three counts of failing to show up for jury duty.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited a 15-year-old boy on a charge of underage drinking at 5:34 p.m. Thursday in the 4400 block of Kanata Street in the valley.

• Police cited an 18-year-old man on a charge of underage drinking downtown after the 1990 GMC Suburban he was driving reportedly struck an unoccupied 2002 Chrysler, which sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Thursday at 4:01 p.m. in the area of Cope Park downtown, 3:10 p.m. in the area of Capital and Distin avenues downtown, at 9:10 p.m. near Park Place in the valley, and at 9:55 p.m. at Wolfram Way in the valley. A bear was reported eating garbage at 8:48 p.m. Thursday in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive in the valley.

Friday's reports involving bears included sightings at 11:56 a.m. in the 900 block of Ninnis Drive in the valley and at 12:31 p.m. near Glacier Highway in the Twin Lakes area. Bears were reported eating garbage at 12:07 p.m. in the 15300 block of Glacier Highway north of Auke Bay and at 10:46 pm. in the 5900 block of Churchill Way in the Lemon Creek area.

At 6:24 a.m. Saturday, a bear reportedly tore down a gate, got onto a deck and ate food from a cooler in the 5000 block of Powers Street in the valley. A bear also was reported getting into garbage at 1:44 a.m. in the 6000 block of Gull Way in the Lemon Creek area.
