JUNEAU - Hospice and Home Care of Juneau will start its next seven-week Bereavement Support Group on Wednesday, July 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the ★★CJ office, 419 Sixth St., on the ground floor of the former St. Ann's nursing home behind the Catholic Cathedral.
This supportive group of six to 12 people will gather every Wednesday evening, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., from July 23 to Sept. 10, with no meeting on Aug. 6. They share stories of life with a partner, parent, sibling, child, grandparent, grandchild or friend; of their loss experience; and the new life following the death of that person. It is a place to grieve with support, guidance and creative activities to assist in forming a treasure chest of memories.
This a "closed" group, meaning that the same people go through the process together. If you know you will be absent more than one of these days, you might want to wait until the following group begins Oct. 8.
To get to the office, take Egan Drive to Main Street. Take a left up Main Street and right on Fifth. Street. Then go four blocks to Harris Street and turn left. One-half block up Harris, turn left into the upper parking lot. Please park on the water side. Come to the glass door with the Hospice and Home Care of Juneau sign.
Suggested donation is $80 for the series. There also is a sliding scale. No one will be turned away for inability to pay.
