Former Juneau resident Loy S. Lonberg died July 12, 2008. He was 65.
Born Dec. 11, 1942, in Eugene, Ore., to Lonnie and Florence (Petersen) Lonberg, he graduated from South Eugene High School in 1961.
He married Kim Ellen Brester on Dec. 30, 1977, in Juneau.
He was a part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for more than 30 years and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for six years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jay Lonnie Lonberg.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Lonberg, of Coburg, Ore.; mother-in-law, Irene Brester, of Junction City, Ore.; daughters, Kara Bosley, of Coburg, and Tina Costa, of Cottage Grove, Ore.; sister, Dyann Schierholtz, of Lincoln City, Ore.; and six grandchildren.
A graveside memorial will be held at 11 a.m. today at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
