ANCHORAGE - U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski hasn't officially announced she's running for re-election next year, but the Alaska Republican has built up more than $1 million in her war chest.
In a filing with the Federal Election Commission, Murkowski reports raising more than $380,000 in the quarter ending June 30. She had more than $730,000 cash on hand entering the quarter, and spent only $55,350 in the last three months.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's political action committee, SarahPAC, said in its own filings this week that it contributed $5,000 to Murkowski's campaign.
Palin announced she will resign July 26 to focus on politics outside Alaska. Her spokeswoman, Meghan Stapleton, says Alaska Senate or House campaigns are not options being considered by Palin.
