Posted: Friday, July 16, 2010

JUNEAU - Work continues on the new beginner Porcupine Chair at Eaglecrest Ski Area this month.

According to an update on the Eaglecrest website, crews hung chairs on the lift on June 22 and three days later a cap was installed on the top terminal.

The new lift features double-seater chairs and will consist of 6 total towers and 39 chairs. Upon completion, it will provide easier access to the Muskeg and Dolly Varden runs.

The project is being funded by contributions from the Rasmuson Foundation, funds raised during the Black Bear Chairlift Campaign and also from the Eaglecrest Foundation Porcupine Chairlift Campaign.
