Vehicle accident:
A 58-year-old man was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital after an accident at 6:29 p.m. Saturday on Glacier Highway in the Auke Bay area. He was driving a 2002 Toyota RAV4 that sustained an estimated $10,000 in damage. Police cited the driver of a 1992 Ford Bronco, a 22-year-old woman, on a charge of failing to yield. The Bronco was reported totaled.
Traffic stop:
Police impounded a vehicle at 3:08 a.m. Sunday on outbound Egan Drive near Gold Creek downtown after citing the driver, a 43-year-old man, on a charge of driving without a license.
Underage drinking:
Police cited an 18-year-old woman on a charge of underage drinking at 8:57 p.m. Saturday in Cope Park downtown.
Animal encounters:
A small bear was reported at 1:56 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Irwin Street downtown. A bear was reported at 2:31 p.m. Sunday walking on a sidewalk near Calhoun Avenue in the area of the Governor's Mansion. Also Sunday, a bear was reported at 8:13 p.m. in the 300 block of Distin Avenue downtown. At 3:25 a.m. Sunday, a bear with two cubs was reported crossing Egan drive at Yandukin Drive.
