ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police have arrested a man suspected of throwing a bottle that shattered and killed a Fort Richardson soldier seven years ago.

Esau Fualema Jr., also known as "Smokey," was arraigned Saturday on charges he killed Marc Hopfenspirger, 21.
Police said Hopfenspirger bled to death June 13, 1999, near The Mall at Sears after a piece of a beer bottle sliced open his neck.
Fualema was being held Sunday at the Anchorage Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Fualema was indicted Tuesday on two counts of second-degree murder.
Fualema turned himself in Friday night, said police spokesman Lt. Paul Honeman.
