Margaret "Peggie" Hawkins

Longtime Juneau resident Margaret "Peggie" Hawkins died July 8, 2009, in Bellevue, Wash. She was 84.

Born in Seattle, Wash., in 1944, she married and moved to Juneau, where she lived most of her life. She loved Juneau and being a loving mother and raising her children, her family said. She loved the outdoors, reading, gourmet cooking and visiting with friends.

She lived in Juneau until she moved back to the Bellevue area in 2004 to be closer to family. She was the mother of six children.

She was preceded in death by her son, Chris Garrison, who died in 2003.

She is survived by her sons, Rick Garrison, of Waldport, Ore., Jeff Garrison, of Juneau, Greg Garrison, of Hoonah, and Keven Garrison, of Issaquah, Wash.; daughter, Maggie Gable, of Olathe, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

No service will be held at her request. Internment will be at Washelli Cemetery in Seattle.
