Felix assumes directorship of NCADD/Juneau: Matt Felix will assume the directorship of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Juneau Affiliate on Aug. 1. Felix has extensive administrative and clinical experience in the field of alcohol and other drug treatment and prevention, having served previously as director of the state Department of Health and Social Services Division of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, and organized the city of Juneau's Department of Health and Social Services.

LeBlanc heads after-care program for GHS: J. Wayne LeBlanc, who served as NCADD/Juneau's executive director for the past year, will head an after-care program for Gastineau Human Services.

Local cookbook author to demonstrate: Juneau writer and Empire reporter Ann Chandonnet, author of ``The Alaska Heritage Seafood Cookbook,'' has been contracted by Fish Expo to demonstrate two recipes from her cookbook at the Seattle exposition on Nov. 17. Expenses for the trip will be paid by Diversified Trade Communications of Maine, which organizes Fish Expo, and her publisher, Alaska Northwest Books.

Division of Tourism expands: Division of Tourism employees have become part of a larger economic development group, inclusively known as the Division of Community and Business Development. Ginny Fay will serve as Deputy Director of the new division. Sharon Gaiptman transfers into the Business Development Specialist position, Glen Mitchell transfers into the fisheries administrative support position, Mila Saldivar fills the local government assistance administrative support position and Larry Hughes transfers into the business development and administrative support position. Aneta Synan and Odin Brudie will continue their planning and technical assistance responsibilities.

Human Resources certifications obtained: Juneau residents Meg Day of Kennecott Greens Creek Mining Co., Kirk McAllister of the University of Alaska Southeast, Albert Rinehart of Klukwan Inc., Nila Rinehart and Jeanna Wittwer of Tlingit and Haida Head Start and Eric Hotchkiss of St. Anne's Care Center recently earned certification as Professionals in Human Resources. To become certified, an applicant must pass a comprehensive examination and demonstrate a strong background of professional human resource experience.
