Juneau police, fire officials, hospital officials and state troopers reported:

Driving while intoxicated:

About 1 a.m. today, Terrence Kinnaird, 55, was arrested on Egan Drive outbound near Norway Point for drunken driving. He was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. His vehicle was impounded.

Thefts, lost/found items:

Shortly before 9 a.m. Monday, a woman, 40, was arrested on South Franklin Street for concealment of merchandise after she allegedly shoplifted a bottle of Canadian whiskey. She was lodged at state prison.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Monday, a man, 48, reported the theft of several parts of his septic system on Wilma Avenue over the past year. The parts are valued at $650.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Monday, a woman, 49, reported the theft of her black-and-gray mountain bike from Seward Street. There were no leads or suspects.

Shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, a man, 50, was arrested on Shattuck Way for retention of lost property. He allegedly attempted to sell a stolen drill in a downtown bar. He was lodged at state prison.

At about 3:30 p.m. Monday, a woman, 43, reported the theft of her son's bicycle from in front of her Kanat'a Street residence.

At about 4 p.m. Monday, a woman, 35, reported the theft of her husband's soft-sided briefcase from his unlocked vehicle at the Merchants Wharf parking lot. The briefcase contained a checkbook, cell phone and credit cards.

At about 4:30 p.m., a man, 37, reported the theft of a Dell Poweredge 1300 Base Pentium III K computer with all accessories from a home or business off the Glacier Highway.


At about 11:15 p.m. Monday, a woman, 40, was arrested for domestic violence assault on South Franklin Street and transported to state prison.

Vehicle accidents:

At about 10:30 p.m. Monday, two vehicles were involved in an accident at the Mendenhall Mall parking lot. A 1986 Ford Escort driven by a boy, 17, sustained no damage; the driver was cited for driving while his license was canceled as well as for unsafe backing. The second vehicle, a 1996 Mercury four-door, sustained about $250 damage. It was driven by a man, 24.

Animal encounters:

At about 4:30 p.m. Monday, police received a report of a bear in the area of Kodzoff II trailer park on Mendenhall Loop Road.

At about 8 p.m. Monday, police received a report of a bear in the area of Gray Street.

Shortly after 1 a.m. today, two bears were reported getting into garbage in the area of Threadneedle Street. The bears showed no aggression.

Warrant arrests:

About 3 p.m. Monday, a man, 32, was arrested on an outstanding Juneau Police Department warrant for failure to satisfy judgment on an arrest for drunken driving. He was lodged at state prison.


Capital City Fire & Rescue responded to a fire alarm at 8:13 a.m. Monday on Seward Street. It was a ``malicious pulled alarm.'' There were no suspects.
