Courts:

Court records show the following legal actions among those taken in Juneau Superior and District courts recently.

Judgments:

• Mark A. Heitert, 48, was found guilty of driving under the influence stemming from an incident on May 20. Juneau District Judge Peter B. Froehlich fined him $3,000, imposed 180 days in jail with 155 suspended, revoked his driver's license for one year and placed him on probation for two years. Charges of driving with a suspended or revoked license and fourth-degree assault were dismissed.

He also was found guilty of driving with a revoked license stemming from an incident on Jan. 6, 2002. Froehlich imposed 60 days in jail with 50 suspended. And he was found guilty of failing to appear in court stemming from an incident on April 8, 2002. Froehlich imposed 30 days in jail with 25 suspended.

• Christopher C. Batchelor, 20, was found guilty of driving under the influence stemming from an incident on April 12. Froehlich fined him $5,000 with $3,500 suspended, imposed 120 days in jail with 100 suspended, revoked his driver's license for one year, and placed him on probation for two years. He also was found guilty of one count of reckless endangerment. Froehlich fined him $500 with $400 suspended and imposed 60 days in jail with all suspended. Dismissed were another count of reckless endangerment, a charge of sixth-degree drug misconduct and a charge of underage drinking.

• Albert Thompson Jr., 45, was found guilty of operating a watercraft or aircraft while intoxicated stemming from an incident on May 18. Froehlich fined him $3,000 with $1,500 suspended, imposed 46 days in jail with 40 suspended, revoked his driver's license for 90 days, and placed him on probation for one year.

• Donald Pleasants, 35, was found guilty of operating a watercraft or aircraft while intoxicated stemming from an incident on May 15. Froehlich fined him $3,000 with $1,500 suspended, imposed 33 days in jail with 30 suspended, revoked his driver's license for 90 days, and placed him on probation for one year.

• Reginald H. Ward, 43, was found guilty of reckless endangerment stemming from an incident on March 29. The original charge was driving under the influence. Juneau District Magistrate John W. Sivertsen Jr. fined him $500 with $300 suspended, imposed 33 days in jail with 30 suspended, revoked his driver's license for 30 days, and placed him on probation for one year. A charge of driving without a license was dismissed.

• Richard Porria, 44, was found guilty of driving while intoxicated stemming from an incident on April 23. Sivertsen fined him $3,000 with $1,500 suspended, imposed 33 days in jail with 30 suspended, revoked his driver's license for 90 days, and placed him on probation for one year. A charge of refusing a breath test was dismissed.

• Paul S. Locher, 44, was found guilty of reckless driving stemming from an incident on Feb. 10. The original charge was driving under the influence. Froehlich fined him $3,000 with $2,000 suspended, imposed 60 days in jail with all suspended, revoked his driver's license for 30 days, and placed him on probation for one year.

• Michael W. Wilson, 32, was found guilty of driving while intoxicated stemming from an incident on May 15. Froehlich fined him $10,000 with $6,500 suspended, imposed 300 days in jail with 150 suspended, revoked his driver's license for five years, and placed him on probation for three years. A charge of reckless endangerment was dismissed.

Indictments:

• Trevor B. Prather, 20, was indicted by a grand jury on one count of first-degree burglary and one count of second-degree theft stemming from an incident on May 22.

• David A. Whisenant, 18, was indicted by a grand jury on one count of second-degree burglary stemming from an incident on May 10.

• Joseph M. Cox, 30, was indicted by a grand jury on one count of third-degree drug misconduct and one count of sixth-degree drug misconduct stemming from an incident on June 21.

• Jeremy L. Karl. 30, was found guilty of fourth-degree assault stemming from an incident on May 20. Juneau Superior Court Judge Patricia Collins imposed 12 months in jail with six months suspended and placed him on probation for one year.

• Christel M. Silva, 25, was found guilty of driving while intoxicated stemming from an incident on June 20. Froehlich fined Silva $1,500, imposed 33 days in jail with 30 suspended, revoked the driver's license for 90 days, and placed Silva on probation for 18 months. Silva also was found guilty of driving with a suspended or revoked license. Froehlich imposed 10 days in jail with all suspended. A charge of reckless endangerment was dismissed.
