The Juneau All-Stars improved to 2-0 in pool play Sunday with a 11-4 win over Sitka in the Alaska Little League District 2 Junior Baseball Tournament in Ketchikan.
Sean Bavard fired six strong innings while Jon Davis and Geoff Craig pitched in relief for victorious Juneau.
With the scored tied 1-1 in the fourth inning, Juneau's Beau Damian kicked off a five-run rally with an RBI single. Juneau added four runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to down Sitka.
Davis cracked a solo home run in the win while Vinny Isturis went 2-for-3 with an RBI double. Craig went 1-for-5 in the win and Dylan Kolvig made an over-the-shoulder catch in centerfield in the win.
On Saturday, Juneau opened tournament play with a 17-2 rout of Prince of Wales.
Corey Mahar, Josh Mayer, Bavard and Davis all pitched in the win.
Craig led Juneau's offense with a 2-for-5 effort, including two triples and four RBIs.
Jamie Daniel went 2-for-4 with a double while Mayer hit an RBI single and reached base four times.
Defensively, Davis made a diving catch to steal a base hit.
Juneau takes on host Ketchikan Tuesday at 7 p.m.
In the District 2 Senior Baseball Tournament, Juneau ran into a pair of tough teams and was eliminated from play.
Ketchikan topped Juneau 13-1 Sunday as Shane Rud provided Juneau's lone run with a solo homer.
On Saturday, Sitka toppled Juneau 7-5.
Juneau had six ground-rule doubles in the loss.
