ANCHORAGE - Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is back to normal operations after a bomb scare.
A luggage screening machine detected what officials said they thought was a bomb. It turned out to be an electronic cash register.
The bomb scare triggered a partial shutdown and evacuation of the airport on Wednesday night.
Airport officials said they are pleased with the way the bomb scare was handled, saying it was better to be safe than sorry.
