We would like to extend our warmest thanks to the community of Juneau for hosting the Second Annual Governor's Family Picnic. Juneauites know how to have a great time in spite of the rain, and we had a great turnout.
This picnic would not have been possible without the support of many donors and volunteers - so many, in fact, that we don't have room in this letter to thank each one individually. But we would be remiss if we did not recognize the Alaska Committee, Capital City Celebrations, Coeur Alaska, and Alaska USA for their substantial donations; the Juneau Gold Rush Commission for the set-up and use of their tent; the Juneau Chamber of Commerce and the picnic committee members for their top to bottom organization; and the seafood processors and fishermen who supplied over 350 pounds of delicious, fresh Alaskan seafood.
It was truly a community effort, with an inspiring number of contributors and volunteers who spent countless hours planning, shopping, cooking, and making themselves available to pitch in where ever needed. My thanks to them, and to all who attended.
Thank you Juneau - It's a pleasure to serve you!
Sean and Sandy Parnell
