Pow Wow seeks donors, vendors

The Gathering of the Tribes Pow Will have its 3rd annual gathering Sept. 3 and 4 at Juneau Douglas High School from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Event sponsors are seeking craft vendors, donations and people to provide housing.

Dance and other performance groups from several states will be featured. Arts and crafts tables are available for $50 before Aug. 1, with the fee $100 afterward.

Colorado pastor comes to Bible school

The Rev. Ray Hawkins, a child evangelist from Colorado, will be featured at Vacation Bible School from July 31 to Aug. 4 at the Church of the Nazarene.

Sessions are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily, with magic, music, crafts and other activities planned. For more information call 789-2724.

PCA training being offered

A Personal Care Attendant job training program will be offered at the end of the month by CornerStone Home.

The program has state STEP funds available to cover tuition and fees. Students may be able to earn income during the training period. Welfare-to-work applicants are encouraged.

Low-income home loan program reopened

The nonprofit organization Housing First has reopened applications for its Home Opportunity Program for low-income home buyers.

About $150,000 is available for interest-free, forgivable loans. The application deadline is Aug. 31.

An informational meeting is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 2 in the Gruening Park recreation room, 1800 Northwood Street.
