I don't have a big problem with the sentiment expressed in Thursday's unattributed editorial, other than in the end the writer seemed almost to encourage capitulation rather than "let's fix what is wrong" with this system foisted off on us by the federal courts.
One of the most important factors in my decision to live in Alaska (18-plus years) was the independent nature, and courage of conviction demonstrated by a majority of its citizens.
I wish to encourage Ronnie Rosenberg, and all other voters registered as "N" (so reads my new voter registration card received in yesterday's mail), as well as those disenfranchised by their chosen political party, to fight the primary election system that has been foisted off on us by yet another spineless interpretation from the politically (bipartisan) appointed federal courts.
Please, do make a serious effort to educate yourselves about the candidates, and the ballots that are being force-fed to us, so that the predominantly independent spirit of Alaskans does not ultimately suffer the same fate as the dinosaurs.
A credit line for the Homer News editorial inadvertently was omitted. - Editor
