Andersen, Mahoney to marry

Kristanne Elizabeth Andersen and Daniel Thomas Mahony of Armidale, New South Wales, Australia, recently announced their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Kathy Medley of Simi Valley, Calif., and Harold Andersen of Sequim, Wash. She was born in Juneau and lived here for 11 years. She then moved to California. She was a valedictorian of Royal High School in Simi Valley in 1993; graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a baccalaureate degree in civil engineering in 1998; and graduated from the University of New England in Armidale, New South Wales, with a master's degree in natural resources in 2002. She is an environmental engineer with the New South Wales Department of Land and Water Conservation.

The groom is a native Australian, and the son of Timothy and Marlene Mahony, of Yangan, Queensland. He received his high school diploma from Moranbah State High School in 1986 and completed an apprenticeship with Telestra in 1988. He works with Telestra as a technician/linesman and has recently been named the ADSL Area Expert for the New England area of New South Wales.

The wedding is planned for Jan. 25, 2003, in Armidale, New South Wales.
