Soldotna shooting victim identified

KENAI - Alaska State Troopers have released the name of the victim of a deadly shooting in the Soldotna area.

Troopers say the man who was fatally shot Friday was 23-year-old Brendon McGee.

Authorities say they are still searching for a suspect in the homicide.

After the shooting, troopers closed off a wooded area in west Soldotna and conducted a ground and helicopter search.

Soldotna is on the Kenai Peninsula about 70 miles southwest of Anchorage.
