...for help with fuel spill
During our recent fuel spill at Tee Harbor, we received a lot of much-appreciated assistance. I wish to thank my family, Mike Donohue of Trouble's End, friends, and two men from Alsek Freight for many hours of efficient and hard work. Thanks also to John Gitkov for advice and use of his equipment, Taku Oil Sales Inc. for hours of help and their prompt delivery of needed equipment, to the U.S. Coast Guard for the supplies and equipment and to Chris, the coast guard man, who delivered it. Thanks also to the helpful personnel from DEC and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Thanks also to the friends and neighbors who brought food so we would not have to prepare meals while working around the clock on cleanup. I very much appreciated the patience, support and understanding of my moorage and fuel customers.
In spite of some very exaggerated reports on the size of the spill and all the boats being oiled (everyone's boats were clean and well taken care of), I am sure the public will be happy to know the spill was contained within the marina area. Once again we have our usual clean harbor and are open for fuel delivery.
