Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Vehicle accidents:

• A 48-year-old man was cited for failure to exercise due care to avoid an accident at 1 p.m. Tuesday after the 1994 Ford truck he was driving struck a parked 1992 Toyota at Fifth and Franklin streets.

• A 1994 Dodge driven by an 18-year-old woman and a 1992 Dodge driven by a 25-year-old man were totaled after an accident at 4:14 p.m. Tuesday at Egan Drive and Old Dairy Road.


• Seventy-five dogwood trees were reported stolen at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.

• A blue Huffy mountain bike was reported stolen at 9:19 a.m. Wednesday in the 5000 block of Glacier Highway.

Traffic stop:

• A 47-year-old man was cited for driving without a license at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Glacier Avenue. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported roaming around the 1800 block of Glacier Highway at 7:29 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Tuesday and around the 6500 block of Glacier Highway at 11:53 p.m. Tuesday.

Calls related to domestic violence: 0.

Calls related to animal encounters: 3.
