ANCHORAGE - Up to two dozen aftershocks have occurred after a strong earthquake was reported in a remote and sparsely populated area of the Aleutian Islands in southwest Alaska.
The 6.7-magnitude quake on Saturday has been followed by more than 20 aftershocks. No injuries have been reported.
Seismologist Natasha Ruppert says the aftershocks are connected to Saturday's earthquake.
She says not too much should be inferred from the recent earthquake activity in the Aleutians. She says Alaska has a lot of earthquakes.
