Three Gastineau Channel Little League baseball teams are currently playing in Southeast Tournaments.

At the District 2 League Majors (aged 11-12) Tournament in Craig Thursday, Juneau East dropped into the consolation bracket after a 7-2 loss to Ketchikan.

Juneau West, which fell to Juneau East 6-1 in the opening game Wednesday, defeated Petersburg 6-0 behind Cody Heppner's one-hit, complete game performance from the mound.

Juneau West plays Wrangell at 3 p.m. today, while Juneau East takes on Prince of Wales at noon.

In other scores Thursday, Sitka defeated Wrangell 22-0.

At the District 2 Minors (9-10) Tournament in Petersburg, Joe Kohan and Dylan Listberger teamed up to pitch Juneau over Wrangell 14-6 on Thursday.

Zach Heppner and Collin Monagle each went 3-for-3 from the plate for Juneau, while Shawn Ibesate hit 2-for-4 and Nick Andrews 2-for-3.

Ibesate made two big plays defensively, picking off a runner at first base and gunning down another at third on a steal attempt.

``Those kinds of plays really helped us out,'' Juneau head coach Larry Toth said.

Juneau plays Petersburg - 14-3 winners over Ketchikan - at 3 p.m. today. Ketchikan meets Wrangell at noon.
