Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Assault:

• Police arrested a man, 64, on an assault charge at 2:19 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of South Franklin Street. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Theft:

• Groceries valued at $80 were reported stolen from an unlocked 1993 Chevrolet Blazer at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West Ninth Street.

Vehicle accidents:

• A bicyclist was reported uninjured in an accident at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday involving a 1991 Jeep at Nancy Street and Mendenhall Loop Road. The bicycle, ridden by a boy, 15, reportedly rode in front of the vehicle, driven by a woman, 39. Damage to the bicycle reportedly was repaired at the scene.

Underage drinking:

• Police cited two boys, 15 and 17, on charges of underage drinking at 11:32 p.m. Tuesday in the 8900 block of North Douglas Highway.

Animal encounters:

• A bear was reported to have broken into a padlocked shed and pulled trash out at 10:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 4900 block of Wren Drive in the Mendenhall Valley. A bear with quills in his mouth was reported at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday in the 4400 block of Abby Way in the Twin Lakes area.

Calls related to domestic violence: 0.
