Red Cross offers sockeye and classes

During the month of July, the American Red Cross is giving a fresh red sockeye salmon to the first 20 people who donate $150 or more.

People wishing to know more about the fish and their delivery should bring their checks to the American Red Cross of Alaska, 3200 Hospital Drive No. 203.

The American Red Cross of Alaska is also offering a Spanish speaking infant and child CPR class at 6 p.m. on July 20 at the American Red Cross of Alaska. Taught by Eve Delgado, the class requires preregistration. For more information about the red sockeye or the Spanish class, call 463-5713.

Day Camp registers for week of July 24

Crystal Lake Day Camp is accepting registrations for children ages 10 to 12 during the week of July 24 at the Dredge Lakes area.

Forest Service naturalists will teach children outdoor skills. Participants can be dropped off at the Forest Service housing area on Back Loop Road adjacent to the weather station. Bus transportation is also available from Harborview Elementary School.
