Jon Davis fired a complete game three-hitter with 10 strikeouts to pace the Juneau All-Stars to a 7-1 win over Wrangell-Haines Thursday to win the Alaska Little League District 2 Major Baseball championship in Ketchikan.
Davis also went 1-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs in the win.
Juneau started the scoring in the first inning as Corey Mahar led off with a double and was driven home by Dylan Kolvig's single.
Davis blasted a two-run double in the third to put Juneau up 3-0 in the top half of the third.
Wrangell-Haines' Orion Falvey hit an RBI single to account for his team's lone run.
Mahar and Kolvig each went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Craig had two hits and a run scored and Josh Mayer contributed two hits.
Davis went 1-for-4 and scored twice while Vinny Isturis and Beau Damien each had a hit in the win.
"It was a complete team game," Juneau manager Tom Mayer said. "Everybody from one to 12 contributed. Beau Damien came on as a substitute and singled. Everyone contributed. Everyone worked hard."
Juneau will represent District 2 in the state tournament in Anchorage. Juneau faces the District 1 champion Sunday at noon in the opener of a best-of-three series for the state title.
The state champ will play in the West Region tournament in Forest Grove, Ore. in August.
In the District 2 Major Baseball tournament in Sitka, Juneau West improved to 2-1 with an 11-1 victory over Prince of Wales.
Matt Noreen and Ryan Kelly combined to strike out six batters in the win.
Tyler Moss and Mark Idone each went 2-for-2 for West.
Bobby Simpson, Ryan Kelly, Christopher Luck and Christian Jacobsen also had hits in the win.
Juneau West faces Juneau East today at 3 p.m.
