ANCHORAGE - All-around sportswoman Shannon Donley took home prizes in two local races in Anchorage this weekend.
Less than 24 hours after winning the Hammerman Triathlon at Kincaid Park, Donley took top honors in the first iteration of the dauntingly hilly King of the Mountain road bike race.
Donley describes her feat as "fun in a sick kind of way."
The bike race took competitors on a grueling climb to the Glen Alps parking lot and totaled about 2,000 feet in elevation gain.
Donley finished in one hour, 12 minutes and 22 seconds to hold off 16-year-old Jessica Yeaton by 44 seconds.
