Margaret A. Fuelling of Caldwell, Idaho died July 20, 2010. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell.
Margaret was born August 4, 1921 at Glenwood, Minn., a daughter if Clyde A. Cooley and Ella Carson Cooley. She attended elementary school at District 67 in Pope County, Minn. In 1935, she moved with her family to Caldwell, Idaho where she attended high school. She attended business school in Boise for a year. She became a Christian in Minnesota and was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Boise.
She worked for Pacific Fruit and Produce, Olson Company and the Morrison-Knudsen Company, Inc. at various construction sites until her marriage to Bernard Fuelling in 1948 at Storrie, Calif. They lived in Folsom and Paradise, Ca where Bernard was employed on dam construction jobs. Bernard died in Calif. Margaret moved to Alaska in 1974, and was employed by an air charter service and worked on the Alaska pipeline. She also worked for the State of Alaska Social Services, the Department of Labor and retired from the State of Alaska in Juneau as an accountant and collection manager.
After leaving Alaska, Margaret lived in Sacramento, Calif. She and her grandson enjoyed several trips together. In 1988, she moved back to Caldwell to be close to her sister, Marjorie. Margaret enjoyed bowling, reading and traveling. One year she read 74 books, with one being "War and Peace." The next year she read 53 and one of those was the Bible. While in Juneau, she traveled to Baltimore and to Bermuda. She traveled from Sacramento to New Zealand, Sydney, Australia and Fiji. She also went to the British Isles, Siberia, Faeroe Islands and Iceland, Greece, Turkey, Costa Rica and a trip by boat from Vienna to the Black Sea on the Danube, Eastern and Western Canada as well as some of the United States.
Survivors include sons Wayne N. Fuelling and Neal A. Fuelling (Laura) of California; her sisters Marjorie LaRue of Caldwell, Idaho and Ruth Wulf (Warren) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her brother Dean Cooley (Peggy) of Cedar City, Utah and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Cooley, niece Joanne Hinkle, an infant son Kenneth and her beloved grandson Arthur. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
