Juneau's Junior All-Stars earned a state tournament berth Wednesday with a 20-1 win over Sitka to sweep the best-of-3 District 2 All-Stars tournament. Tanner Petrie picked up the win on the hill. The Juniors beat Sitka 11-0 in Tuesday's opener. Juneau scored early and often, plating four runs in the first inning and five in the second, in posting its third mercy-rule victory of the tournament. In all, the Juniors outscored their opponents - Wrangell, Sitka and Ketchikan - 81-6 in five games. Jeffrey Pusich pitched all five innings, striking out nine. R.J. Markovich and Nick Stewart each went 3-for-3 at the plate. Tod Baseden had two hits, an RBI and scored twice, while Jackson Pavitt went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Kellen Johanson added a triple.
