I'd like to know why KINY always carries the boys' little league games, but they don't carry the girls'. The 16-and-under little league girls' team is playing in Soldotna starting Saturday. For once we'd like to have the girls broadcast.

Concerning the mess of paper the other night in O'Day Street area, I wanted to thank the police and especially the parents for making the kids clean up the mess. It's refreshing to know parenting is alive and well. The kids may not know it now, but they learned about responsibility that night.

I'm calling about the complaints being made about helicopter and float plane noise. One says there are 14 helicopters every 10 minutes over his house. That would be 84 helicopters in Juneau and there's not even 84 helicopters in Juneau. I wish these people would get real and quit making a big nuisance out of nothing.

I visit Juneau every summer and look forward to seeing what those flamingos will be up to each day. They provide a moment of whimsical pleasure in an often uncertain world. I have told the story of the flamingos to many in West Virginia. Personally, I hope a flock hatches before I leave. Perhaps those who object could turn their heads as they pass.

I just want to say thank you to the kids from the YMCA in South Carolina for coming up and volunteering at the Last Chance Mining Museum over the week. They did a great job.

Two king crabs a day. What a gift from the incompetents we employ. It wasn't too long ago that the limit was six king crabs a day, six king salmon a day, halibut was everywhere and the only fish smell in town was from the herring spawn on every dock pile and rock. If this trend keeps up these guys are going to manage our fisheries into oblivion.

To the person who left the comment in Word of Mouth Friday, they'd better get their ears checked and maybe pay attention to KINY's Capital Chat last Monday because it wasn't the Skagway mayor who said the road was a convenience, it was the Skagway city manager. Get it straight.

If we move the shooting range downtown we could stuff some deer and charge the tourists $5 a pop to shoot them.

To the person who said pink-colored flamingos are an insulting eyesore to those who appreciate the natural rustic landscape of Alaska, you haven't ridden the ferry lately. There are living pink flamingos perched in the trees going through some of the Inside Passage. Live pink flamingos live in Alaska now.

In response to the person who said the pink flamingos' owners are lazy, I used to live in Auke Bay and it was a pleasure every day to drive by and see the pink flamingos. If they're going to complain about things, maybe they should just complain to themselves.

I wonder if the sound of helicopter flights to the glacier this summer are bothering the bald eagles and other wildlife, and if so does anyone care?

Our dog was hit by a blue truck going down Montana Creek Road. The man did not stop, our dog is dead and we can't understand why a person in Juneau would do something like this and not take care of the animal. I'd also like to thank the people who stopped and pulled the dog off the road and consoled my son, who is 14 years old.

This is for the person who deliberately damaged my green 1997 Ford Ranger. Why did you do such a lowdown thing? If I offended you in some way, why didn't you face me and ask for an explanation and an apology? I can understand frustration, but not such mean actions.
